So, who is Sudsy?
‘Sudsy’ was the first ever laundry van built by Orange Sky co-founders, Nic and Lucas, at the age of 20. It took them three days (and three sets of broken washing machines and dryers) to get the van working. Nic, Lucas and Sudsy hit the streets of Brisbane and met a friend named Jordan, who was the first person to use the free mobile laundry service. Jordan taught Nic and Lucas that while clean clothes were important, it was the conversation and connection that mattered most.
Every day, vans just like Sudsy hit the road all over Australia to support people doing it tough. In these vans, there are six orange chairs that are pulled out at each shift to create an opportunity for volunteers and friends to connect through genuine and non-judgemental conversation.
The Sudsy Challenge is about raising funds and awareness to support the 1 in 200 Australians who are experiencing homelessness.
